A motor vehicle accident involving a vehicle and tractor-trailer in Midway, Georgia Thursday morning, March 5, 2020, caused the death of one person.
As reported by CoastalCourier.com, “Joseph Leon Kerr, 62, was traveling south on 95 and had to pull off the interstate south of Exit 76 in Midway when he began to have vehicle trouble…Kerr pulled his 2002 Toyota Corolla onto the grassy shoulder asphalt around 6:55 a.m.”
According to the report, “[w]hile sitting in his vehicle waiting for a tow truck to come recover his vehicle a tractor trailer driver…decided to take a 30 minute break from driving and began to pull onto the shoulder of the interstate.”
WJCL.com is reporting, “[a]s he was pulling over, the front passenger side of his rig struck Kerr’s 2002 Toyota Corolla’s driver’s side, injuring Kerr.”
The victim was taken to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah where he was tragically unable to recover from his injuries, according to the report.
The investigation is ongoing.
