A motor vehicle accident in Habersham County, Georgia Wednesday morning, November 20, 2019, left one person fatally injured.
As reported by 11Alive.com, “students from Habersham Central High School were involved in a crash on Camp Creek Road just before 8 a.m.”
According to the report, ” 17-year-old Carlos Christo Morales of Baldwin…was riding with his brother and cousin in a Ford F-150 pickup truck when a Jeep Cherokee crossed the center line and ran into them head-on.”
AJC.com is reporting, “[a]ll three [students] were taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center, where the 17-year-old driver later died.”
According to the report, “[Carlos Chrito] Morales’ brother, Obertino Morales, and cousin, Jose Jimenez Castro, were treated for injuries that were not considered life-threatening.”
The driver of the other vehicle “faces charges of first-degree vehicular homicide, DUI and three traffic citations, GSP said. She was also taken to the same hospital with serious injuries,” according to the media reports.
The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the accident.
