A shooting outside La Taqueria Oaxaquena restaurant in Canton reportedly claimed the life of 41-year-old Edel Cortes Mendoza Thursday, July 28, 2016. According to 11 Alive News, “[Mr.] Mendoza was shot outside the La Taqueria Oaxaquena restaurant on Marietta Road.”
Police have allegedly since arrested a suspect in connection with the shooting. Authorities have not yet announced a motive. The fatal assault comes only one year after another Canton restaurant shooting occurred less than two miles away, according to The Canton-Sixes Patch.
