34-year-old Derrick Scott was shot when gunfire erupted “at the Sands Apartments on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard” Sunday night, December 9, 2018, according to The Columbus Ledger-Enquirer. Mr. Scott was transported to Piedmont Midtown Medical Center, where he tragically succumbed to fatal injuries.
Police have not yet revealed a suspect or motive. A neighbor told WRBL “she’s lived in the area for years and crime has always been an issue to the point where she feels unsafe in her own community.”
