A motor vehicle accident involving two vehicles in Athens, Georgia Sunday morning, May 3, 2020, caused the loss of one woman and injured multiple others.
As reported by AJC.com, “Athens police responded to the collision on Atlanta Highway shortly before 11:30 a.m. May 3…a Dodge Journey was traveling east when a Ford Edge SUV heading in the opposite direction failed to yield, turned in front of it and struck the Dodge.”
According to the report, “five [people] suffered injuries and were taken to Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center…[o]ne of the passengers in the Ford, Gloria Thurmond, died of her injuries Wednesday.”
The crash investigation is ongoing.
