As reported by WALB.com, “[a]t around 7 p.m., the Mitchell County 911 center received a call about a hit-and-run.”
According to the report, “[an officer] was called out to Mt. Olive Road where a pedestrian, later identified as 88-year-old Amos Anderson, was hit and killed by a vehicle. At the time of the incident, Anderson was picking up debris just outside of his home.“
WALB.com is reporting, “the driver was headed east at the time of the incident, but after fatally hitting 88-year-old Amos Anderson, the driver reversed and went back west.” Per the report, “[l]aw enforcement went door-to-door looking for surveillance footage but were unsuccessful. Currently, there are no witnesses.”
