A motor vehicle accident involving two vehicles and a semi truck tragically claimed the life of two men and injured two others Wednesday night, March 27, 2019.

According to MDJonline.com, “Steven Bishop, 57, and Tommy Johnson, 46, were headed south in a blue 2004 Nissan Maxima on Highway 92, also known as Hiram Acworth Highway, approaching Holland Road when their car crashed into a silver 2012 Ford Taurus just after 11 p.m. Wednesday.” “The Taurus was headed north on Highway 92, but got into the southbound lane while attempting to pass a burgundy 2000 Freightliner towing a trailer…[a]fter colliding head-on with the Maxima, the Taurus hit the left side of the Freightliner.”  AJC.com is reporting, “[t]he driver and passenger of the Maxima, Steven Bishop, 57, of Dallas, and Tommy Johnson, 46, of Dallas, were both killed.”  The driver and passenger of the Taurus “were both taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital with serious injuries.”

The collision is still under investigation according to media reports.

A Dahlonega motorcycle accident tragically claimed the life of one rider Tuesday afternoon, March 26, 2019.  According to AccessWDUN.com, “[a driver] turned left from Morrision Moore Parkway onto Auraria Road and into the path of a motorcycle being operated by Loyd Randall Ash, 68, of Dahlonega.”  The motorcycle hit the left side of a trailer being towed by the vehicle, according to the report.  AJC.com is reporting that “[Loyd Randall] Ash was wearing a motorcycle helmet at the time of the crash in addition to possessing a motorcycle permit.”

According to AJC.com, “[the vehicle driver] was arrested at the scene, and he faces charges of second-degree vehicular homicide and failure to yield when turning left.”

A motor vehicle accident caused fatal injuries to one driver and seriously injured two others Saturday evening, March 23, 2019.  According to Jacksonville.com, “[the driver of] a Nissan Altima traveling the wrong way on U.S. 1 about three miles north of Race Pond was killed when it collided head-on with an SUV headed south.”  The Nissan “struck a GMC Yukon in the southbound lane closest to the median of the divided four-lane highway.”  According to the news story, “[t]he driver of the Yukon, 43-year-old Billy Davis, and a passenger, Gwendolen Davis, 48, both of St. Johns, Fla., were transported to UF Health in Jacksonville for treatment…Billy Davis was taken to the hospital by ambulance and Gwendolen Davis was transported by air evacuation.”

The investigation is ongoing.
