Two teenagers where struck while in the crosswalk in front of Wheeler High School March 9, 2019.  According to Fox5Atlanta.com, “[Malik] Spellman was one of two teenagers in the crosswalk in front of Wheeler High School around 7 p.m…[a]s the individuals crossed into the northbound lanes, they were both struck.” The news story reports “[the teens] were both transported to the hospital one with serious injuries. The other with life-threatening injuries.”  WSBtv.com is reporting that one teen has been released from the hospital but “[Mr.] Spellman remains in a hospital and his medical bills are starting to pile up.”

Media outlets report the driver has been identified and any charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.

A vehicle struck a pedestrian Wednesday afternoon, February 27, 2019, leaving one woman injured.  According to WSAV.com, “[a vehicle] was traveling north on White Bluff Road, approaching Hampstead Avenue.”  The news report suggests “[the driver] observed the pedestrian, identified as Linda Williams, 72, standing by the side of the road, not in a crosswalk.” WTOC.com is reporting “[a] preliminary investigation revealed that the woman walked out in front of the man’s vehicle giving him no opportunity to stop.” The news outlet reports that [Ms. Williams] “was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.”

The accident is still under investigation according to media outlets.

On Saturday evening, February 23, 2019, a “pedestrian was stuck and killed by a vehicle…on Peach Orchard Road,” according to AugustaChronicle.com.  WFXG.com is reporting “[t]he man was identified as 69 year-old, Willie Mims…[Mr.] Mims was crossing the 2500 [block] of Peach Orchard Road when a northbound car hit him.”

The investigation is ongoing according to media outlets.
