A motor vehicle accident involving two vehicle injured two people early Wednesday morning, April 10, 2019.

According to WTOC.com, “Savannah Police Department’s Traffic Investigation Unit is investigating a hit-and-run incident that happened at Victory Drive and Bee Road early Wednesday morning.”  The news story reports, “a man driving a Mercury Grand Marquis for Adam Cab was traveling south on Bee Road with his passenger. At the same time, a Nissan Frontier pickup truck was traveling east on Victory Drive. As the Nissan truck approached a red light for Victory Drive, it went to the right of the vehicles that were stopped, crossed a concrete island and struck the Grand Marquis, which then caused the car to strike a light pole.”  WSAV.com identifies the occupants of the Grand Marquis as “62-year-old Gregory Tremble, a driver for Adam Cab” and “[h]is passenger, Brian Friel, 48.”  according to the WSAV.com report, “[Mr.] Tremble sustained minor injuries and [Mr.] Friel was transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.”  The driver of the Nissan Frontier left the scene of the accident but was later found according to the media reports.

The Traffic Investigation Unit continues to investigate.

A motor vehicle accident involving two vehicles tragically claimed the life of two fathers Sunday, April 7, 2019.

According to CobbCountyCourier.com, “the Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) Unit is investigating a fatal accident that resulted in two deaths on Floyd Road Sunday.” The news story reports, “at 4:44 p.m. on Sunday, April 7, a 2010 Toyota driven by Wheeler was headed west on Bates Road approaching Floyd Road. Wheeler turned left onto Floyd Road into the path of a northbound 2006 Infiniti…[t]he two vehicles then collided.”  According to the news report, “James Wheeler, 31, of Acworth, and Douglas Duff, Jr, of Mableton were declared dead at Wellstar Cobb Hospital on Sunday afternoon.”  WSBtv.com is reporting that ” it’s under investigation if the [Infinity] was in a street race with another car” and investigators are “working to get a description of the second car involved in the possible street racing.”

The collision is still under investigation according to media reports.

A pedestrian accident claimed the life of a man Thursday morning, March 21, 2019. According to CobbCountyCourier.com, the accident “happened this [Thursday] morning at 6:21 a.m. on Riverside Parkway near the I-20 overpass.”  CBS46.com reports, “Sidney Tharpe, 66, of Roaring River, North Carolina was walking north on Riverside Parkway when he was hit by a 2010 Chevrolet Suburban traveling south on Riverside Parkway.”  Mr. Tharpe was pronounced dead on scene.

The collision remains under investigation according to the media outlets.
