A Sunday afternoon bike ride turned into a hospital visit for a young boy in Augusta.  According to WRDW.com, “around 12:10 p.m. on Sunday, a 13-year-old boy was biking on 2nd Street and about to pull onto Duncan Road. A 2003 GMC SUV was driving south on Duncan Road when it hit the teen.”  Per the news outlets, “[t]he teen was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.”  The driver of the car was not injured.

It is unclear whether the driver will be facing charges.

According to AJC.com, authorities indicate that “[a] Virginia man putting gas into his vehicle on the side of I-285 was hit early Sunday morning and killed.” The paper reports that “[t]he man, identified by the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office as 35-year-old Larry Sawyer of Radford [Virginia], was stopped on the right shoulder of I-285 North near the Bolton Road exit about 4:30 a.m. when a vehicle rear-ended his.”

The news organization further indicates that officers have initially concluded that driver of the vehicle that hit Mr. Radford “was determined to be at fault.”

Savannah Police’s Traffic Investigation Unit is investigating an early morning crash January 28, 2019, that resulted in the death of a bicyclist. The deceased has been identified as Robert Fristoe, 63, of Savannah, Savannah Morning News is reporting.

Savannah police told WTOC 11 “around 4:40 a.m., officers responded to Oglethorpe Avenue at Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and discovered the bicyclist suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was transported to Memorial where he died as a result of his injuries.”

Savannah Police Department officials told WTOC 11 “a Dodge Ram 2500 was making a left turn at the same time the bicyclist entered the intersection.  The truck struck the bicyclist.”

It is unclear whether the driver will be facing charges.
