A motor vehicle accident involving multiple vehicles claimed the lives of two people and left others injured early Thursday morning, June 13, 2019.  According to WTOC.com, “[t]he wreck occurred near mile marker 61…just after the Highway 17 exit…in the early morning hours Thursday.”  The news story reports, “a Honda Accord driven by a male was traveling in the southbound lanes when it struck a Volvo with four occupants inside. The Volvo became disabled in the left-hand lanes and the occupants exited the vehicle to seek safety on the shoulder of the road near the guard rails.”  A short moment later, “[w]hile on the roadway a Dodge Nitro occupied with four people struck the Volvo. Within minutes of striking the Volvo, a Chevy Cruise with two occupants struck both the Dodge Nitro and Volvo. A Dodge Ram later struck the Dodge Nitro.”  WSAV.com is reporting the two women whose lives were lost have “been identified as Julia Brazil of South Carolina and her 55-year-old daughter, Tammie Stafford.”

The driver of the Honda Accord is facing DUI charges, according to the media reports.
