One man is dead and another man was injured after a shooting in Swainsboro, GA on Monday afternoon, Dec 18, 2023.
As reported by EmanuelCountyLive.com, “[o]n Monday, December 18, at approximately 3:15 p.m., Swainsboro Police Officers were dispatched to an address on North Racetrack Street in reference to shots being fired. Upon officers’ arrival, information was given that an individual had in fact been shot and was transported to Emanuel Medical Center.”
According to the report, “[a]s patrol was securing the scene, detectives responded to the emergency room to determine the condition of the victim, Aaron Sonny Pierce, age 22, of Dublin. Pierce was subsequently pronounced dead as a result of a gunshot wound.”
WJBF.com is reporting, “[a]nother shooting happened about 30 minutes later, at the same location. There is at least one injured in that incident. That victim is being treated at an Augusta hospital.”
According to WRDW.com, “[a]dditional officers responding to the scene of the shooting were able to apprehend an individual after a foot pursuit.”
The investigation is ongoing.
